The Honeymoon is over.....

With the election of Benedict XVI, Newsday is officially showing it's true colors....
On Wednesday April 20th the Opinion page contains a lengthy criticism of the Popes view on the modern world. It seems that the author "Theologian" Daniel Speed Thompson has a different view of the modern world. What is it about the modern world that the Holy Father opposes. Genocide, infanticide, euthanasia, sexual promiscuity, sexual deviance, excessive materialism and the eradication of anything referring to God in our new secular world. I like the Holy Father am very afraid and Mr. Thompson should also be. He refers to a "brighter morning that God has given us". I think the author needs to open his eyes and really look around. I agree with the author that we need to love even those who seem to be our enemy, but I prefer the idea of loving the sinner and hating the sin......

Media Response to Death of John Paul II

So here it is my first blog.... It is important for Catholics to be diligent in the next few weeks to carefully monitor the media coverage regarding the death of John Paul II. On Long Island we must once again endure the slanted views promulgated by our only local paper, Newsday..... Take note of how many times a representative of Voice of the Faithful is called upon to give opinion on matters pertaining to the future of the Church. These individuals do not represent the sentiments and beliefs of most Roman Catholics on Long Island. The "Buffet Catholics" who believe that you can pick and choose the parts of the Faith that you wish to accept or not, do not represent the majority of the Diocese of Rockville Centre.
